The super 12s is a premier rugby union tournament held each year. SANZAR
(South Africa New Zealand Australia Rugby) The Crusaders are Christchurch's
reprehensive in the Supper 12s. During the early 1990s the Crusaders lost some
of their key players and ended up struggling in the mid table of the NPC. After a
cash injection by a group of businessmen Crusaders returned to the top of the
SANZAR.
Since then the Crusaders rose from mid table obscurity to champions of the
Super 12s in 1998, 199, 2000 and 2002. Since then their fortunes haven't been
as good and during the 2004 series they lost in the final to the Blues
The teams that compete in the supper 12s (s12) are the ACT Brumbies, The
Blues, The Bulls, The Cats, The Chiefs, The Crusaders, The Highlanders, The
Hurricanes, NSW Waratahs, Queensland Reds, The Sharks and The Stormers.
